Higher Education Lecturer. Currently on-ground Assistent Professor of Design at the University of Baltimore. Previously I was a Professor of design at Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD).
I teach graphic design production, typography, vector/raster/motion graphics, intellectual property and arts law, design methodologies (graduate level), and graphic design history. I am developing pedagogical techniques developed in the private sector that introduce and encourage real-world studio collaboration, methodologies and cross-collaboration techniques with other creative disciplines. I have been recognized by college administration (SCAD) for innovative studio classroom techniques (both on-line and on-ground).
Higher Education Course Development. Developing arts law course for undergraduate and graduate student body. Authoring on-line course for undergraduate graphic design program. Developing pedagogical approach to studio collaboration for on-line students.
Higher Education Graduate Program Development. While at SCAD I was a member of the graduate Graphic Design Curriculum Review Committee (MA and MFA program). Involved in 45 hour review of graduate students (on-ground and on-line campuses). Currently rewriting three graduate program courses for implementation in 2012 (Business of Graphic Design, User Experience Studio (virtual/environmental), and Digital Production Studio (mobile media)).
Creative Direction & Agency Management. Over 20 years experience as art director for various internationally recognized advertising agencies and public relations firms.
Print and screen based media development, promotion and management for the fashion, luxury products, museums, consumer goods, pharmaceutical and the petrochemical industry. Creative management consultant for Hearst Publications and International Management group (IMG)
A successful fifteen year track record in creative management. Over a decade of operations management and business development experience in international agency setting. Over fifteen years of experience in the management and development of international brands.
Intellectual Property & Arts Lawyer. Counsel clients on substantive and procedural issues in areas of international trademark, licensing, copyright, communications, unfair competition, brand management, government contracting and UNESCO related issues.
Advise and negotiate usage rights for copy-protected and patented works. Represented a variety of developers, content providers, multimedia developers and advertising agencies in contractional, licensing, trademark and copyright related matters.
Lecturer. Lecturer on arts, cultural and intellectual property law for various studios, universities, and arts related organizations.
